History

Established in 2001.
Phở Ca Dao is a traditional, authentic Vietnamese restaurant serving high-quality food. Founded in 2001 by the Huynh family, Phở CaDao currently has 4 locations throughout San Diego, including Mira Mesa, East County, Rancho Bernardo and Santee.
We pride ourselves in creating each dish with our genuine love and passion for Vietnamese cuisine that stems from our strong family values. The word “Ca Dao” in Phở Ca Dao means folk songs, a cultural tradition that’s been passed down from one generation to the next; similar to phở, a traditional Vietnamese fare that has stood the test of time. We continue to preserve the authenticity of Vietnamese recipes that also encourages a healthier way of eating.

  One of the better bun bo hue and they actually will do extra spicy correctly. This is my go to order and the only reason for coming. Although the raw beef salad is good and the fish sauce chicken is quite delicious too. Skip the curry chicken - while it's tasty, it's quite odd to have shredded chicken.Only tried this place because next door was closed for vacation so consider it a blessing.

  One of my go to spots for pho. Service can be slow occasionally, but the phood is worth it. Usually pretty consistent in terms of quality, but I've had one or two instances out of the 20+ times I've been here where the pho was subpar.

  This place is good. If you are having Pho, it is super fast. I've been to Pho Ca Dao many times. The food is a step above what you would expect for a regular lunchtime haunt. It is a local Pho favorite. Most everything I've eaten there is well made. The part that I find amazing is how quickly and efficiently the place is managed. Unless they are crazy busy, you get seated quickly. As soon as you sit, water is placed in front of you and your order is taken. The food comes out from the kitchen quickly. Your water glass keeps getting filled and the staff is always close by to help. When you are done. Before you walk out the door, they are preparing your table for the next guest. Don't get me wrong, the food is good and the atmosphere is somewhat relaxed for customers. But this place is a well oiled machine.
